Imagine music from a time before radios, before records, and definitely before rock and roll! Old-time music is essentially the original folk music of rural America, especially rooted in the Appalachian Mountains. It’s the the sound of communities playing together on front porches, at barn dances, and for their own entertainment.
Old Time Instruments
The Long Hill String Band performs Old-time music entirely on acoustic instruments including the fiddle, banjo, mandolin, upright bass, guitar, and sometimes even less conventional things like a washboard, spoons, or our dancing limberjack, Woody.
